If you have missing teeth the best treatment that is effective and lasts a long time are dental implants. Treatment depends on the number of teeth missing and the amount of bone you have
Dental implants are a form of replacing missing teeth. If you have missing teeth, one of the options is to replace that space is with dental implants.
Basically a dental implant has three parts; a screw that is placed inside the bone, a connector (abutment) that connects the inside world to the outside world and crown that sits on top of the connector.
Generally a scan on the area where the dental implant needs to be placed is done to see if there is enough bone in the area.
In the first visit of implant placement, you gum is gently raised and a screw made of titanium placed inside you jaw under either local anaesthetic or IV sedation (sleep dentistry). The implant is either
You have to then wait three months for the bone to grown around the implant and grab hold of it (osseointegration). The next stage generally is either placing the healing abutment (second stage surgery) or taking a mould (impression) for the crown to be placed on top of the implant. The third visit is when the crown is cemented or screwed onto the implant.
In this case we augment the site with some bone (add bone to the area) before placement of the implant. The augmentation can take place on the very same day as the implant placement or 3 months before the implant placement depending on the amount of bone needed.
The cost price of dental implant varies from whether one is being done or multiple dental implants are being placed. You should also consider the cost of bone augmentation. Generally treatment costs start from 4500.00
